Join us at The Held Space for a deeply embodied and soulful workshop honouring Imbolc, the Celtic festival devoted to Brigid, goddess of healing, fire, creativity, and the first stirrings of new life beneath the winter soil. Imbolc marks the midpoint between the winter solstice and the spring equinox — a time traditionally celebrated as the quiet, glowing promise of renewal. This festival invites us to notice the earliest signs of spring, to tend our inner flame, and to consciously prepare for what we wish to cultivate in the months ahead.
Workshop Flow
We begin with TRE (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) led by Luke Mullen — TRE Mentor, kinesiologist, and trauma specialist. Luke’s grounded, trauma-informed guidance helps participants gently release stored tension, calm the nervous system, and awaken a sense of spacious, embodied awareness. These somatic anchors create an ideal internal landscape for the shamanic journey that follows. By settling deeply into the body, participants become more receptive, intuitive, and connected as they move into the visionary work of the second half of the workshop.
The journey then transitions into a powerful Shamanic exploration with drumming facilitated by Maggie Rose, Shamanic Healer and artist known for her deep, empathic presence and transformative ceremonial work. Maggie’s drumming is both grounding and catalytic — a rhythmic gateway that supports participants to travel inward, connect with ancestral wisdom, and receive insight from the unseen realms. The ritual of the drum, used in countless cultures across time, anchors us back into Earth, into the seasons, and into the shared human experience of gathering around rhythm, fire, and intention.
Why Imbolc? Why Now?
Imbolc is a sacred moment to:
Reignite inspiration and the inner fire
Honour the return of light after the deep stillness of winter
Listen for the “seeds” within us that are just beginning to stir
Purify, clarify, and bless new intentions for the year ahead
By aligning with these ancient rhythms, we reclaim a connection to Earth, the seasons, ancestral practices, and to each other. In a world that often encourages disconnection, pausing to gather in ceremony helps restore what our bodies and spirits innately understand.
The Alchemy of The Held Space
This workshop is part of The Held Space’s commitment to offering rich, interdisciplinary experiences. By bringing together different practitioners and modalities — somatic, shamanic, energetic, and creative — we allow new forms of insight and inner exploration to emerge. The combination of TRE’s physiological grounding with Maggie’s ceremonial drumming offers a powerful synergy that is accessible, safe, and profoundly expansive.
